During this trip from SFO to India, I got the experience of taking India international and domestic flight.

1 India international flight – Air India

1.1 How to purchase

You can purchase the ticket via these channel : Kayak.com, Booking.com, Priceline

1.2 Luggage requirement 

2 check in luggage, 1 carry-on

1.3 Meal

They offered 2 meals and 1 light meal. There are vegan and non-veg options. I love one of veggie meals: Okra! 

1.4 Security check

• From SFO to India

You should show your E-Visa( I’m going to share a post related to it), effective passport. You will walk through by ” E-visa” immigration gate in India airport.

• From India to SFO

You should show your Valid North America visa( America passport、Green card、H1b、F1, etc). I would say it’s strict in India security. I have been three security checks( airport lobby、luggage check、before the gate)

Note: the security check between female and man are separated. You will carry your passport and boarding pass to your section. For women, you will go into the private room and female security will check thoroughly. And they will stamp” approved” later. The good thing is that there’s always less waiting than guys. 

2 India Domestic flight – IndiGo

2.1 How to purchase

You can purchase the ticket via these channel : goibibo.com/, Yatra.com, Makemytrip.com, cheapoair.com

2.2 Luggage requirement 

1 check in luggage, 1 carry-on

2.3 Flight condition

New, clean and flight is on time

2.4 Meal

Not included. They serve instant noodles, chai( milk tea), coffee, crackers , etc , It’s about ₹200~300 ($3.67~4.61) Currency transfer

2.5 安檢

You should show your passport and walk two security checks(luggage check、before the gate)

Note: the security check between female and man are separated. You will carry your passport and boarding pass to your section. For women, you will go into the private room and female security will check thoroughly. And they will stamp” approved” later. The good thing is that there’s always less waiting than guys. 

3 Other India Domestic Flgihts

You might could take other India domestic flights such as Jet Airways, SpiceJet, Air India Express, Go Air. I’ll share my expereince if I get the chances later
